Governor Hickenlooper knows full well that polls are not facts. Let me repeat: Polls are not facts! Polls can (and are) manipulated and structured to get the results you want ??? or that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg wants. A few nodding heads from his sycophants does not mean that The People agree with him. The Colorado background check was just an excuse to impose a $10 TAX on every gun sale. The magazine ban makes it illegal for me to offer to sell my 95 year old drum magazine for a Luger worth $1500 - even to someone out of state. This idiotic law even applies to antiques over 100 years old. Absolutely stupid. "arrogant politicians like Gov. Hickenlooper should not ignore their constituents". Well said. Throw the bum out!
The Recall is not just about gun control. It is also about driver's licenses for illegal immigrants, in-state tuition for illegal immigrants, the internet tax, recreational pot, higher taxes, repealing the senior citizen tax exemption and much more. The Colorado background check was just an excuse to impose a $10 TAX on every gun sale. The magazine ban makes it illegal for me to sell my 95 year old drum magazine for a Luger worth $1500 - even to someone out of state. Brilliant.... That will take a bite out of crime! It also bans purchase or sale of 95 year old Pederson Devices (look it up) with magazines, and antique $100,000 Gatling Guns. However, Senate President Morse telling legislators to ignore letters and emails from citizens is reason enough for a recall. Throw the bums out!
The NRA is composed of individual members - who finance the organization. Many are Colorado members who asked for help. Bloomberg is an outsider - an extremely wealthy individual from New York trying to impose his personal will on Colorado by trying to buy the election. His personally financed group should be called "Bloomberg Against Guns", because that's exactly how they act. There's no question that Senator Morse abused his position and the People of Colorado by claiming far more per diem reimbursements (331 days) than any other lawmaker in 2009. The next closest lawmaker was Speaker of the House Terrance Carroll, D-Denver, who claimed 239 days. Since when does Colorado need (or want) to pay for his trip to China to be the self-appointed Colorado "China envoy"? Voters, wake up!
With thanks to Dana Carvey: "Well, isn't that Special...." "My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency..." Well, it certainly is open and transparent..... Anybody can see right through 'em. Wow! You just can't make this stuff up!
Linn County (Oregon) Sheriff Tim Mueller, "We are Americans," Mueller wrote. "We must not allow, nor shall we tolerate, the actions of criminals, no matter how heinous the crimes, to prompt politicians to enact laws that will infringe upon the liberties of responsible citizens who have broken no laws." Thanks to Lenore Skenazy - what we're seeing is "Post-Traumatic Stupidity Syndrome"
So, how much will it cost the taxpayers to fly the children and their parents to DC, feed them, provide nice hotel rooms for them, and entertain them???????
Under the guise of tracing, the ATF already has a backdoor registration system through ATF's National Tracing Center and eTrace (internet tracing system), and have been repeatedly advocating enlarging the scope of the system. The 1986 Firearms Owners’ Protection Act specifically forbids registration of firearms records at 18 U.S.C. 926(a), yet ATF has been quietly accumulating millions of firearms registration records. One of the more ominous quotes: "In addition to potential legislative proposals, Biden’s group has expanded its focus to include measures that would not need congressional approval and could be quickly implemented by executive action..."
Author of the original article exposing addresses of firearm permit holders, Dwight R. Worley. Mr. Worley owns a S&W .357 but withheld his own name and address from the list of gun owners published. Does this smell of hypocrisy? Dwight R. Worley 23006 139 Ave Springfield Gardens, NY 11413 (718) 527-0832 Tax Watch Reporter at the Journal News/LoHud.com “Journal News reporter Dwight R. Worley owns a Smith & Wesson 686 .357 Magnum and has had a residence permit in New York City for that weapon since February 2011.”
The NRA makes a valid point. Armed guards already protect the President, his children, other government officials, Members of Congress, Federal Buildings, Courts, celebrities, airlines, and banks. Are all of these more important than our children?
