The rich are rich because they have good connections to local, state and federal government officials who 'help' them and they, in turn, 'help' the officials with campaign funds and free trips. The poor are poor, in large part, because they're lazy and have been convinced that they are the victims of some scam; e.g., white racism causes black kids to not have a father around; white racism causes black kids not to develop the ability to control themselves in public; white racism causes black kids not to be able to learn ... aka, the "White Devil" theory of American history.

Poor choices, naturally, have bad consequences.
Want to be hated? Tell the person how it happened to them, as if they do not really know.
Want to be treasured? lie.
Want to do good. Tell the person their lousy choices got them where they are, if it is true.
Your care, concern and honesty will eliminate any chance of a political future.

Media personality Tavis Smiley and Princeton philosophy professor Cornell West have just published their latest contribution to American poverty propaganda, “The Rich and the Rest of Us: A Poverty Manifesto.”

The book should have a second subtitle: “How to keep the poor poor and blacks enslaved to government.” To the extent this book is taken seriously by anyone, the result can only be more, entrenched poverty.
