Heard a Marine Vet speak of WWII in the Pacific. An airplane mechanic, his job was to keep a pilot's specific war bird in the air. These particular planes leaked oil, which was washed off with gasoline. After one flight, the sitting plane's external fuel coat caught fire. The Marine jumped into the cockpit and started the plane, knowing that the prop air would put the fire out. The Marine was promoted. as this display of potential self-sacrifice ensured that the mission could continue. Compare and contrast this with Susan Rice...heck, the whole administration's...loyalty to the people of the United States, and our Constitution.
