I understand your frustration with violent criminals. But I'm pretty sure that no one here has any intention of "trying to break into your house". Your anger might be better directed toward your misguided 'public-servants', and the violent criminals they facilitate - neither of which read this column or comment herein.
Why wouldn’t we want to keep the mal-informed, misguided, irrational, imbeciles (such as you, rauljg69), from gaining access to open public media – such as this comment blog? You would do well to think on that for a while – before you put your foot back in your mouth.
Actually, that's a case of another armed violent criminal, unlawfully branishing a gun while perpetrating an unlawful act (murder). So brightontop, do you alway proclaim "the sky is falling" evertime it rains? You rascally Democrat, you.

Criminals are NOT constrained by your silly rules - or anyone elses.

** thoughts of deranged child killer when taking aim in school ** “Thanks to laws severely infringing the peaceable, law-abiding, citizens right to arms – I’m able to acquire any manner of weapon I choose (that are banned to them). And there are thousands of “gun-free zones” to choose from in order to maximize mayhem, while minimizing the risk of armed opposition. How I love Democrats.”

Mr. Bialosky, Do you mean to say that you (a professional journalist) were scooped by the lowly Washington Post? Really? (“The stale claim that 40 percent of gun sales lack background checks” by Glenn Kessler, Washington Post, January 21, 2013) And exactly who comprises the "we" - who you are so eager to share the blame with (for your prior profoundly defective "column")?
Executive Orders can only be enforced against those who are subject to federal jurisdiction - which include all federal public-servants, federal employees, and residents of Washington DC and US possessions. Nearly all private citizens are outside of their jurisdiction.

The ONLY legitimate "gun law": Compel the Justice Dept. to register all felons (who have not had their rights legally reinstated) and publish a list of them – updated daily. Then prohibit (under penalty of law) all licensed gun dealers from selling guns or ammo to them. All law-abiding (non-registered-felon) adults simply bring cash, show ID (as they would to vote, or rent a car), and leave with their purchase in hand. Register felons – NOT law-abiding citizens.

Well said.
Allison, "Gun nuts"? You must be referring to the "nuts" with a freakish aversion to guns. Indeed, they are insufferable.
