Well, when Christians refuse to enlist into any branch of the military, BHO will feel extremely happy. With only atheists, agnostics, and Muslims enlisting the size of the military will shrink to less than 50 or 60 thousand...total for the Marines, Air Force, Navy, Army, and Coast Guard. That will equal to about 12 men/women/don't ask don't tells on an aircraft carrier down to 1 man/woman/don't ask don't tell on a Coast Guard Cutter; 1 per tank crew, 2 per missile launch truck, and 2 or 3 per air Calvary landing.

There are 16 federal laws on the books now concerning firearms, out of which 8 have mandatory prison sentences. These 8 laws have been used to imprison about 250 violators over the past 25 years. Federal and state D.A.'s simply do not pursue these laws and judges many times give less than the minimum mandatory sentence. If this is the case due to a lackadaisical judicial system, what good will more unenforced laws on the books do? What would be more of a help would be laws that would create an agency that would systematically review our court sentencing and law usage system in order to verify that our judicial system is fully functional and fair.

Personally, I believe that one should be able to possess any type of firearms their heart desires. They should be able to keep it in their places of abode, their modes of transportation, and on their bodies...just as long as it/they are in view of those around them. If you are going to have a firearm, put it where you can see it, use it, wear it, or carry it without interference from police. Those places, e.g., schools, churches, banks, and bars where weapons may be frowned upon, should have a check booth/area where you could leave and retrieve your weapon when you leave, manned by a responsible person.

How about offering all of Congress a sensible alternative to the all or none approach to the budget cuts which the nation needs and it's voters want? Instead of a do all spend all approach as the liberal democrats want or a don't spend a nickle more than is necessary approach as some Tea Party newly elects propose, how about this year pass a 5% budget cut for all federal spending and a 5% reduction in spending every year after this year for the next 8 years. Each year with less of a federal budget, the 5% cut will not equal as much as the year before; hence, the real percentage cut over 8 years will be approximately 21% total. In 8 years re-evaluate the situation.
