Freedom to Gamble

Americans are forced to purchase heathcare insurance through Obamacare. Americans must be careful what they say lest they are fired or forced into sensitivity training. The U.S. Government is spying on it's own citizens with drones. There is not more freedom Mr. Chapman. It's unfortunate you equate gambling with freedom. You probably think legalizing drugs is also freedom. It's sad you confuse liberty with license.

Yes, gambling and drug deregulation ARE freedom; the freedom to act as one determines. Conservatives love to cover their authoritarianism with such distractions as "license" or "libertine", but the latter are both liberty so long as they do not deprive others of life, liberty or property.
America is a much freer place than it was a few decades ago, and one way you can tell is that changes once considered unthinkable now occur almost unnoticed. A case in point came when New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed a bill to legalize online gambling.

Atlantic City casinos, which now offer various games on site, will now be able to provide them to patrons at home or wherever else they have access to a computer. New Jerseyans will be able to play the slots without getting off the couch.

Doesn't sound like such a big deal, does it? But 40 years...
