Good grief, everybody's known about this for 20 years now. In the 1996 (so-so) movie "Broken Arrow" the John Travolta character uses an EMP as part of his plot. I read about it in Science long before that. And it's been on TV many times. And now we're supposed to panic?

Also, the US probably already has a short-range ballistic missile defense for the scenario in the story. And missile defense won't protect us against a solar flare, or against a suitcase bomb. Why would Iran choose a method of attack that would leave them open to devastating retaliation? This whole thing is just silly.
