my wife's a private practice attorney and she, like many of her colleagues, avoid hiring permanent help at all costs- the wife only uses a single part time recpetionist- to avoid all current and future red tape, tax and benefit headaches and having to fund unemployment insurance. if all red tape were removed employment would skyrocket.

A host of economists, who always seem to be the last to know, have cut GDP growth forecasts recently, in light of rising unemployment and falling manufacturing output.
