As an Atlanta listener I finally have TWO choices for the morning talk shows: Glenn Beck or Mike Savage. Neal's time slot is no longer his baliwick - and it's about time! This present rant is an example of how ridiculous most of what he has had to say on his AM talk show. I've become tired of his airplane, his trips to Grand Canyon, his acquired wealth, his 'untouchable' contract with WSB,his unsubstantiated superiority complex, blah, blah, blah.OH yeah, "we don't talk about abortion",Christians are non-essentials, and more blah, blah, blah. This rant is no more stupid than most of what he has to say. WSB should note the competition on the other radio shows.
Does he EVER get tired of hearing himself?? Let's be 'progressive' about this:ie: 'Obama' progresses to 'Obammer' which progresses to 'Oyammer' then the official 'Yammerer' of the country. He hasn't said anything worth hearing for several months -and we're supposed to listen to ANOTHER say-nothing speech? I'd guess that prime-time joint session will be watched and heard by FEW people - meaning me and mine!
Right on Gordon! I'm 78 yrs.old & work part-time to pay for my 'gap insurance' which usually pays most of my medical expense anyway. Medicare pays the initial part, "gap" pays the rest. I can just imagine what it will all shake down to if the Feds take over the whole thing.

I'm a veteran of the Korean War (oops! Conflict) and applied for VA coverage FOUR years ago and finally got an appointment with a doctor last month. Probably because there are so many new and severely injured vets from the Mid-East who most certainly deserve sure and quick medical attention - no complaint there. My appointment finally arrived and one of the things I'm told by the VA is to not cancel my private health care coverage. Makes sense to me!.I have been unashamedly told to expect 1 1/2 to 2 years to get a response concerning my COPD. I'm 78 years old and have learned to be patient. Oh - my VA doctor is not an MD but a DO. Pretty cool, huh?

Geez! I'm 78 years old and working a part-time job driving a delivery truck and spend all I make beacuse everything costs so much. In my working years I was paying 25-30 cents a gallon for gas and now it hovers in the $2.50+ area and it's just as far to the grocery store as it ever was!So I can spend almost 5.00 for a boc of cornflakes. Do we not understand that the COLA is intended to keep retirees from losing ground in the economic realm? I'm still in good health and pay $265 monthly in ADDITION (to my medicare)for health insurance. I feel for those seniors who cannot generate any extra income to make ends meet. Give 'em a break!

What should have been done before he died was to put him in the back of a 1949 Pontiac and dumped him into Boston harbor while supporters stood on the shore wondering what could be done.

Friend, you're all wet! Fundamentalism is a basic (fundamental) belief that the Bible is God's Word and is our guide for faith, life and practice. Modernism is the result of 'smart people' believing that the Bible is a book of unnecessary homilies, half-truths and the fairytales of Heaven, Hell and the perfect Savior. A Fundamentalist didn'twrite "Situation Ethics": He was/is a Modernist named Josepf Fletcher. The Modernist is the one who kicked the Bible and Christianity out of the Public schools and public life, not the Fundamentalist.

Worse Than Taxes

Let's see:I'm 78 years old, was tired of just "getting by" so I got a part-time job that pays minimum wage - understandable. What I have difficulty with is the deductions for FICA and Medicare. I don't get any benefit from the continued deductions because my Social Security amount was determined when I 'retired' and the monies paid in now go to a general fund and no matter how much I might be required to pay, my SS check will not increase. Is this a GREAT inventment plan or what? Oh - something else: You've heard of the magnanimous burial check of $255 from SS? My wife and I have buried four parents and noone ever got the $255. I wonder where it went. Of course we still pay all the other taxes which have been discussed - how else could...

Hey Chapman - -you're just continuing the brayinmg from Chicago. Guess what does the braying
It's obvious the prez is oblivious - not only on THIS occasion but on most things that require at least 2weeks of preparation - before entering office of the prez.We have a totally unprepared klutz in the White House - -and NOT Clyde Klutz who used to be a catcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates - but one who doesn't seem to know the hole-in-the-ground from you know what!
