This is not the 18th century. There are a hundred things going on, that children are exposed to from Day One, that can outweigh parents' best intentions and efforts. Start with exposure to chemicals in the womb that produce neurological damage. And then keep on going after that.

"Taking responsibility" - I'm all for it. But old fashioned, traditional, Christian, conservative wisdom says, "Stuff happens". The best parents sometimes have awful children.
