Wow, what an off-base, bizarre article. It is drivel. There are bad people/workers in every profession. One could point out rotten apples virtually everywhere, but it's just strange how you blow this out of proportion x 100. Public education threatens you because it's secular? WHat is the outrage among you people from? And of course I agree these were abuses on the parts of the teachers.

Public education threatens me and this country because critical thinking and communication skills are not taught. "I'm the best," and "Gimme, Gimme!" is being taught.

The article implies those skills don't exist in college either. Professors hide behind the claim the students are dumb.
College is no longer the higher level of learning but about ideology. Who trains the teachers? Colleges.
If you have ever been in public education, you would find for every bad teacher there are bad administrators.

It was while I was driving from Florida, where I gave a presentation on education to citizens, that I heard from talk show hosts about the abuse by North Carolina High School social studies teacher Tanya Dixon-Neely towards a student who dared to challenge her diatribe about Mitt Romney’s alleged “bullying” incident from 1965. In response to the student’s reference to Barack Obama’s own admission in his book of having shoved a girl, the teacher yelled that students can be arrested for disrespecting President Obama. “President” (King?) Obama was beyond criticism to Dixon-Neely, unlike “candidate” Mitt Romney.
