The Right to Self-Defense

I have the feeling that if a Republican were trying to pass all of these gun laws the Dems would be all in a tizzy. Since it's Obama though, they won't say anything, even if they might disagree with him. They need to stop and think that there will come a time when the dems are not in control. When that happens how are they going to feel about having to depend on the government?

Joe Biden’s Self-Defense Advice

Where in the constitution does it say that you are guaranteed freedom from worry? I believe in the God-given, constitutionally guaranteed freedom to walk down the street with a firearm, secure in the knowledge that I would be able to defend myself from a criminal who is already prohibited by law from owning a firearm, but who has one nonetheless.
Or, here's a thought: Pay the meat inspectors and air traffic controllers a salary and benfets commensurate with the private sector, and if the worker is less competent fire him or her and hire someone more competent. I'm sure there are lots of qualified people who would be willing to do those jobs.
You do realize that the article talked about the *mean* salary, and not the *average* right? There's a difference.
Exactly what is a "tax-generated dollar"? Taxes don't generate money. They take money. Think of it like this: They take a dolloar from you, then use 20 cents of that dollar to pay government workers, then give you back 80 cents and claim to have given you a dollar.
By the way John, the 5.56 round is different from the .223. While the same caliber, the 5.56 packs a much bigger punch. Not all AR15's can fire the 5.56, but all AR15's that can fire the 5.56 can also fire the .223.
Only an idiot would burst out the door and open fire. I'd be in a barricade position behind my couch, waiting for the door to open.
When this first started I asked myself which of my firearms I'd use to protect myself. 30.06 would certainly do the job, but it's bolt action is slow, so if you miss on the first shot you're screwed. Then I thought about the fact that this guy was an ex-cop, so I assumed he'd probably be wearing a kevlar jacket, so my shotgun and handguns would probably be useless. Then I thought about my trusty AR15. The one that fires the 5.56 NATO round. The round that *penetrates* kevlar jackets...Hmmm. Which weapon to defend myself with...
Is that all you can counter with? How many times he used "apparently?" I for one listened to Dr. Carson's speach and came away with the same interpretations, and I'll bet I'm not alone. Maybe you should open your eyes and ears.
Not all Democrats are criminals, but almost all criminals are Democrats. Maybe we should ban democrats in order to reduce violence.
It's a Weather Channel thing. I think they've done it for marketing purposes. A named storm sounds really bad, thus more people watch the 24 hour coverage of it. National Weather Service is against it, since winter storms' genesis is very different from hurricanes, it's difficult to say exactly when a fast moving cold front becomes a "winter storm."
