What I can't figure out is how Arne Duncan was "vetted" by the Senate and allowed to be Secretary of Education. Under his reign, the Chicago Public Schools had some of the worst results in the country when it came to meeting standards set LOCALLY. Yet, he was confirmed by the Harry Reid Senate without even the batting of an eyelash.

Harry Reid and the Dems confirmed him--this is a surprise? They'd have confirmed Satan to the post--but he was busy in the Justice Department (no, not Eric Holder; he's just Nick's buddy).

I hate to say it, but the Dems play as a team better than the conservatives do. Depressing, isn't it?

you will never regret homeschooling your children. It's a blessing but a lot of hard work but worth every minute. Your children will get an academic education.

I guess you think that the public school are doing a good job. Please explain why so many homeschoolers blow public schools kids out of the water on SAT's etc... simple... Public schools are NOT about academics or gaining knowledge any more. it's about social engineering.Look at the stats on homeschoolers, they get an academic/knowledge education not an education how Johnny or Sally feels about something. Look at Patrick Henry College,(it's a college designed for homeschoolers) their mock court team have been beating the ivy league schools for several years now

America's downfall doesn't begin with the "low-information voter." It starts with the no-knowledge student.

For decades, collectivist agitators in our schools have chipped away at academic excellence in the name of fairness, diversity and social justice. "Progressive" reformers denounced Western civilization requirements, the Founding Fathers and the Great Books as racist. They attacked traditional grammar classes as irrelevant in modern life. They deemed ability grouping of students (tracking) bad for self-esteem. They replaced time-tested rote techniques and standard algorithms with fuzzy math, inventive spelling and multicultural claptrap.

Under President Obama, these top-down mal-formers -- empowered by Washington education bureaucrats and backed...
