I think voting should be banished. Let's pick our congresscritters at random. The same with the members of the electoral college. We could not possibly do worse and would probably do a whole lot better.

I've often evryone in the nation with a BC or naturalization papers...issue photo ID's and then bounce the voter rolls off the welfare rolls...anyone on the dole has to sit that election out until they are anteing up again....Think of it as a poker game, no-one gets to play without an ante.

I would modify that to say anyone on welfare for more that a prescribed period of time. I have no qualms helping out someone who has a family to feed and was let go, but is out looking for a job.
