You've missed the boat by a mile, and your BDS is tiresome. The problem isn't the Dems or Repubs...it's the citizens. We'll always have con artists, demogogues, and faux men on white horses. It is the citizen's responsibility to hold government accountable. I am grateful Obama was elected...the "sprint" may be enough to wake up the electorate. We can argue about who should drive the bus, but it doesn't matter if it's still heading over the cliff. Start voting with your pocketbook. Against AGW hogwash? Don't buy ANYTHING that mentions "green" and see how long it lasts. Don't like high taxes? Claim every exemption you can and then don't file until April 15th. Don't like car company bailouts? Don't buy anything made by a "government"...

Losing Our Religion, By State Order

The adjectives I described are those that atheists pin on Christians, but better describe the atheists themselves. Your other primary complaint, that Christians have "tent-revivals" (also known as the right to peaceably assemble) and hand out tracts (known as conversing in the marketplace of ideas) that you find so offensive are very revealing of your mindset. I don't know how old you are, but hopefully old enough to realize that the "freedoms" Americans fought for was liberty, not licentiousness. And that seems to be the primary driver for radical atheism...the fear that somehow Christians will try to limit your personal chaos (or more likely convict your conscious, such as it is).

Our liberty was formed by our Christianity as a nation. The founders recognized that faith provided the necessary self-restraint to make many controlling laws unnecessary.

The radical atheist movement has very little understanding of Christianity; Christians understand atheists much better because we all have had crises of faith in our lives but as we came to understand the Lord we healed, and we think we can share our faith and heal these people. But most of them have a blind spot that will not let them see, their hearts are hardened, and their minds are restricted and narrow. Their arguments are the truth of the accusations they parody against Christians ...intolerant, self-righteous, hateful, claiming a special knowledge....

Disclosing the Real Risks on Climate Change

For the people that still continue to worship at the alter of man-caused global warming, there is little hope. Many of them know it's a scam but "necessary" to drive the societal change they envision. Some are poised to make billions and will try to keep the lie alive. All too many operate on pure faith, relying on (as they often capitalize) SCIENCE. They themselves know nothing about science, and fail at the first effort of the true intellectual...challenge your own assumptions. They can't because they are heavily invested emotionally in the religion and faith. Can you imagine how devastating it would be to have to acknowledge that you are nothing more than the gullible rube you've accused others of being? And so it continues,...

Mr. K absolutely nailed it; the elitism, the self-absorption, the psychic distance these progressives have from their fellow citizens. My question is WHY do people continue to vote for them? I understand the fraud, I understand the "free lunch" crowd and also that a substantial part of the population doesn't pay attention (and of course some like the TH trolls...terminally stupid). I have some theories of my own, but would like to hear from you.
