Protests and "Days of Resistance" will do no good before people like Hawkins recognize and act on the reality that voter organization and mobilization is the key. Organization at the block and precinct levels.

The Constitution does not require that the United States pay its debts but that the debt shall not be questioned. The requirement that we acknowledge an obligation is far different than legislating what we should do about it.
