I must take the contrarian view from your title and say that we must unilaterally disarm. Not in spirit and certainly not physically but, in word. He won. The people are not going to be happy if he is not given a chance to hang himself, which he must surely do in terms of results, or shine, if his skills and beliefs hold water which we know they don't. But, we must let him try and in turn try to minimize the damage and think about our opportunity when it comes for it surely will. Raise the damn debt limit on a linear path that won't bankrupt us in four years and plan for the future. The people must learn Santa Claus does not exist before we can reform the entitlement state. It must fail in perception if not actuality.

Isn't it ironic that Republicans keep receiving advice to be more conciliatory and work with President Obama while President Obama not only is receiving the opposite advice but fully intends to be even more divisive in his second term?
