An interesting point is those who misuse "Honor thy father and mother" to justify evil. The ten commandments specifically put "Honor the Sabbath" ahead of "Honor thy father and mother" to teach that if a parent tells one to violate the law, he (or she) is to be ignored. This is like a parent telling a child to steal or murder. According to Chris Rock's "analysis" the child should do so.

Actually, sex selective abortions are occurring in the United States according to a number of media reports. "Pressure to Bear Sons Leads Some Immigrant Indian Women to Sex Selection, Abortion, Study Finds". University of California, San Francisco. May 20, 2012. In May of 2012, Live Action, a pro-life group, sent actors posing as pregnant women into Planned Parenthood clinics, asking a series of questions to elicit information on sex-selective abortions. These interviews were video taped and the videos were posted on the internet. "Planned Parenthood Sting Caught On Video, Released By Anti-Abortion Activists". The Huffington Post. May 29, 2012.

This is mistaken. Judaism has never treated sexuality as something inherently wrong and sinful. When done properly, it is considered an almost sacred act. However, unlike the pagan religions, (which emphasized "sacred prostitution") it treats it as something which is private and not to be discussed in public unless there is a necessity involved. Language is to be kept refined and not vulgar and crass.

Technically, her argument that an abortion is mandatory to save the life of the mother is correct. However, it is forbidden under all other circumstances. As a result, restricting the usage of abortion clinics is correct. I do not quite understand why the bill as you describe it would be in any way against the religious law.
