They need to be put on austerity, not people who were their vicitims. The Government crashed the economy, first with the Community Reinvestment Act, and then with Mark to Market Accounting.

It doesn't die, because it's the truth. Both the government and Wall Street are responsible for the initial crash, but the government made it even worse with mark to market acct.

BTW, let me add to that the morons who thought they could sign up for a mortgage that requirements monthly payments, without a job.

100% LLIE! The total loss from fraudulent mortgages doesn't even come close to the amount of money that was paid by the fed."The entire subprime mortgage market was worth only $1.4 trillion in the fall of 2007 , and that includes loans that were up-to-date. As former Goldman Sachs trader Nomi Prins noted in her book, It Takes a Pillage: Behind the Bailouts, Bonuses, and Backroom Deals from Washington to Wall Street , the federal government could have bought up every single residential mortgage in the country – good, bad and in between – and it would have cost a trillion less than the bailouts."

Over the weekend, President Obama tapped Obama For America Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter to send out a campaign email begging supporters to "tell their story" about how a $2,000 tax increase would hurt them. "Help President Obama right now: Share your story," the email subject reads.
