"should have," "could have"! You forget there are a lot of Christian conservatives who believe that Mormonism is blasphemy! Whether they are right or not, I think a lot of them stayed home. I guess sooner or later we'll find out if that actually happened.

I agree. But many people have a beetle up there rear about any one who has a significant difference about them. These same people, however, laud themselves for voting for an incompetent and vicious black man.

Mitt Romney now joins the long list of the kinds of presidential candidates favored by the Republican establishment-- nice, moderate losers, people with no coherently articulated vision, despite how many ad hoc talking points they may have.

The list of Republican presidential candidates like this goes back at least as far as 1948, when Thomas E. Dewey ran against President Harry Truman. Dewey spoke in lofty generalities while Truman spoke in hard-hitting specifics.
