After reading the posts after mine several days ago, I realize that most of the bloggers haven't got a clue about what they are debating. As a former Canadian, I can tell you the real truth about socialized medicine. Some 40 years ago, my husand and I heard the same rhetoric (lies) from a charismatic leader. We were guaranteed that we could keep our private insurance if we liked it and we did. Within a couple of years we were forced into the government run system. Then we had biligualism forced down our throats; then the metric system. Then the federal government nationalized the oil industry forcing the American oil companies out of Canada which in turn put most oil related businesses out of business. How dod I know this?
