Parents don't do their children ANY favors by giving them a hard-to-pronounce or hard-to-spell "trendy" name. HR departments, when going through stacks of applications, will literally bypass the ones they come across that have a name that they might have a hard time trying to figure out. They don't have the time and too many people are looking for work. It's a lot easier to call "Emily" about a job than "Xylia" (the name a friend of mine gave her newborn daughter).

We will never get along as a species until we understand that there is technically no such thing as "race." There is only one species of human living on the planet at the present time, homo sapien Sapiens. It has been proven that the only time there were ever two "races" of humans was when homo Neanderthalensis briefly lived along side, and was either inter-bred with homo Sapiens or perhaps displaced by them. There are presently ethnic and cultural varities within the current human species - but not racial differences. This fact must be understood and the word "race" dispensed with.

I use to listen to Hannity's radio show regularly, but lately he is a looped repeat of himself. I could turn off his show today and back on tomorrow and he would be talking about the exact same thing. There is no new schlorship on his show, and he is the WORST when it comes to talking over callers and interrupting them. Best thing to do to a liberal is let them talk. Rush does a great job of this and so does Phil Valentine here in Nashville. And since Hannity "discovered" Twitter, that's all he does and its affecting the quality of his radio show. I don't catch him (or O'Reily) very often on TV, no time.

I cannot understand the argument about and concern over the distruction of Israel. I am a Christian, but no religious fanatic by any stretch. And I know that the Bible states very plainly that Israel will exist until the end of this world. Period. Israel cannot be destroyed. We do not know when the end will come, but it will come as the result of God's overarching plan for His creation. Now, I am for Israel because God is for Israel. But there is no reason for the United States to attack Iran on Israel's behalf unless there is a threat directly against the United States. Israel, though our ally, does not need our help, because God promised Abraham it would survive in whatever form God chooses until the end of the earth.

"The bishops are wrong -- about the timing. Efforts to sanction churches for defending the truth will not be starting now, they have already started." This is nothing new. Christians have been sanctioned for their beliefs since the Living Truth , Jesus Christ, was crucified. After that when Stephen was martyred. And so on.

The reason Americans don't understand Islam is because for the last fifty years the left has done everything in its power to remove all vestiges of Christianity from secular life. The result, is that Americans now have no understanding of a culture, Islam, that intwines the religious and the political/secular realm into a common way of existence. Islam has NO separation of religion and state. The Muslim religion Is the state.

That is why all our attempts at democratization in these countries will fail, ultimately. These people do not want our political systems, they don't want our way of life, or our clothes, or our music or even our land. They want us converted to the "religion of peace" or dead if we resist. I am not a scientist, but I am a historian. Most people's concept of history begins with the year they are born. History, geologic history, proves that global warming has happened in the far-distant past as well as only a hundred years ago or so. I can walk out in my yard and pick up fossilized coral which is eveidence that the sea use to cover the part of the world I live in. And I live in land-locked Tennessee.
