Stop the Spending

The answer is that she will do nothing. Cons are only willing to possibly cut spending, I say possibly because they haven't done that in decades. Libs are only possibly willing to raise taxes, I say willingly because taxes have yet to go up under Obama. Until spending is cut and taxes are raised at the same time the debt will never come down.

Five Myths about Same Sex Marriage

You right wingers need to stop asserting all the crazy utopian ideas about what marriage used to be like. Now days, marriage is actually more "sacred" then it has ever been. Look at the Egyptian family, the Greek family, and the Roman family and see if you really think that your ridiculous idea of what a family is has truly been the building block of modern society.
ha nunya I was going to say the same thing and then saw your post. While reading the article I was almost laughing at how he was simultaneously describing himself and other conservatives as well as most of the far left.

I said his argument is absurd, not his conclusion. Yes, kids are taught in totally the wrong way here in America, but it is hardly the fault of indoctrination by liberal teachers and professors, as he insinuates. Also, mis-quoting one of the most famous philosophers of all time in an article about the failings of the education is quite ironic to me.

In addition to my previous post making fun of Mr Sowell, I would like to say that he is right that we do not teach kids to think. All we do is simply teach them to memorize things. We tell them A squared + B squared = C squared but never mention why this formula works. In foreign language classes we teach them lists of vocab but almost nothing about the grammar of the foreign language, or even about the grammar of English. If anyone has ever looked at a junior high or high school test you see that all the questions are multiple choice and only one of the answers is even plausible, once again only asking the students to remember the right answer. Maybe one day we will reform this section of our society seeing as it is the most...

Sowell ends his absurd article about people being stupid because liberals indoctrinate themby misunderstanding what the philosopher he mentions, Socrates, really said. He said I am wise because I know I know nothing. That is so far in meaning from what Sowell paraphrases that I bet he was one of these people that signed the petition against water.

Obamacare: Viagra for Pedophiles

this guy is a moron. The Republicans only offered this amendment because they knew that the Democrats could not vote for it because the House told the Senate they could only re-pass the bill again with minor changes. So that joke of a Senator offered up an amendment that he knew Dems would have to vote against and then he could use it against them. Don't be sheep.

The Economics of Abortion

Hawks27 Wrote: Mar 21, 2010 3:47 PM
please tell me on cons can be against health care reform and against funding for abortions. Now I disagree with the funding of abortions, but I do not see how you then also be against funding for health care reform. You see, if you are against abortion you are against the killing of a baby, but if you are against health care reform you are for poor people literally dying from bad medical treatment. And since most babies that are aborted would have ended up being poor, the conservative position is simply this: "keep them alive as babies, screw 'em when they grow up". You can try and refute me, but no matter what you say deep down you know this bill is going to help huge numbers of American's get GOOD medical care, its just going to...

A Fraud Fights Fox News

Hawks27 Wrote: Mar 17, 2010 3:36 PM
Let's be honest. MSNBC is in the bag for Obama and for liberals, and Fox News is in the bag for conservatives. It is obviously clear that MSNBC lies to its viewers to spread liberal propaganda, while Fox News does the same, only at a greater level. The only difference is that more people watch Fox, which means that Fox lies to more people. Once both conservatives and liberals realize this we can finally move on and improve our country.

I do have to say though, liberals have no one who lies as much (there are a few who are close though) as beck, rush, or hannity.
