Apparently, Townhall is now censoring even oblique references to Barry's proof of citizenship. So I'll guess I'll have to re-post this one. Because it's a serious question. If we're going to require background checks for private citizens to exercise their constiutionally-guaranteed, "shall not be infringed" right to a gun, why do we not require a background check before we turn over the NUCLEAR LAUNCH CODES?!!!!!!! -------- How come we don't have background checks for nuclear weapons? I had to produce my birth certificate and pee in a cup before they'd let me work on the government's airplanes. Odd that nobody required that much of Barry before we turned over the launch codes!

A few weeks back we wrote a column about the issues being debated regarding potentially restricting the rights of gun owners established by the second amendment. The column was generally well received, but there was one point of contention that remains the center of debate regarding gun owners’ rights -- especially with the flaming out of Senator Feinstein’s bill on what she refers to as “assault weapons.” We need to correct this point and we discuss the issue in greater depth.
