I see these two misused more than any other words in these columns and reader posts. Then is an adverb indicating time: First there was one, then there were two. Than is a conjunction indicating comparison: Bill is taller than John. Why is that so difficult to understand?

You’re right about Obama wanting to bring taxes to historic levels, although like most liberals you don’t understand what you are saying. Still, rest assured, if you did understand what you said about taxes at historic levels, you’d be for that too.
