Don't blame the "big city"! I grew up in the third largest U.S. city, as did my parents and my dozen aunts and uncles. One Christmas my mother got a pair of shoes---that was it. Money was tight. Yet none of them, nor my brothers, my friends or I would have sassed an adult or taken what didn't belong to us. Parents didn't tolerate bad behavior and the buck stopped with them. No need for school guards or police involvement because mom and dad knew their children were their responsibility. Eventually newcomers infiltrated the city and literally trashed it. Today I'd be leery of walking around my old neighborhood as I once did. The area didn't fall into ruins by itself. People did it!

The actual meanings of the words "homophobia" and "racism" have been so watered down that they should be declared extinct! They are used by screwed-up people who are incapable of promoting or defending their worthless agenda with any intelligent discussion. Some may remember the childhood chant, "Sticks and stones will break our bones but names will never hurt us". I suggest that adults apply that old "axiom", as in, "Call me whatever you want; I know who I am and I know what I'm about, and I'm not going to kowtow to you."

Thanks for posting Moeller's analysis of the SOTU speech. It explained the common sense of conservative reasoning.

Karl Rove most likely sees Christine O'Donnell as a "ridiculous election", just as you describe Barack Obama. I agree with you that Obama has no qualifications to be a U.S. president despite winning the election. Hopefully we'll do better if Christine O'Donnell wins in November. As always, we must wait til the polls close and the results are tallied. Nothing new there, folks!

Your view could more accurately be described as "stupid and prejudiced" by your obvious denial of the diseases brought on by this behavior. More to the point, the anatomies of men and women clearly indicate the natural relationship to each other. "Colored people???" American descendants from Africa and some of the islands make known to the world how they want to be identified and the world obliges them. Stop comparing the black peoples' struggles to those of homosexuals. It doesn't apply---doesn't work. While there is no perversion in belonging to any race of people, it takes a huge stretch of imagination to convince oneself and others...
