The ideas of conservatism are hard to defeat in the arena of ideas. I suggest anyone interested in learning something look up Dr. Jerry Pournelle's Political Axis. It brings new information to the false dichotomy left versus right. The problem with left v. right is that if you go too far in one direction you become what you despise.
