BTW, any complainers about these points need to remember that you are entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts. You need to look up the realities of the Civil War.

LW... the Ft. Sumter garrison was ordered not to fire back at Confederate forces that were shelling the site. Also.. there were no recorded casualties.

I referenced the Morrill Tariff above. Hard Thought is absolutely correct and you are speaking talking points that are for those who do not care to study the issue and come up with your own evidence. Spend a few minutes of your time and read the following:

Many call it "the late unpleasantness"....When a state is invaded by those of other states for excercising their constitutional right to secede, it certainly IS the war of northern aggression...I remember an article by Dr Williams many years ago where he said it wasn't a civil war, a civil war is two entities fighting over one gov't..we had our own and didn't much care for yours or who led it....kind of like today when you think about it.

Fort Sumter was a federal tax house in SC territory. Do you know how many were killed in the attack? None.

Fort Sumter was in South Carolina territory. Look at the map. They where asked to leave and did not. Their occupation of South Carolina was an act of war. I guess you where talking about your revision?

Economic reasons were behind the War, and emotions played upon to justify it.
I agree with Hard Thought. But we have the advantage, having hindsight. I do not think Liberals have hindsight. Perhaps they believe re-written History as products of Progressive education, in true ignorance.

Yeppers, the Union army at Ft. Sumter fired on the city of Charleston, South Carolina for no reason at all and started the "War of Northern Aggression."

I just LOVE revisionist American History.
For decades, it has been obvious that there are irreconcilable differences between Americans who want to control the lives of others and those who wish to be left alone. Which is the more peaceful solution: Americans using the brute force of government to beat liberty-minded people into submission or simply parting company? In a marriage, where vows are ignored and broken, divorce is the most peaceful solution. Similarly, our constitutional and human rights have been increasingly violated by a government instituted to protect them. Americans who support constitutional abrogation have no intention of mending their ways.

Since Barack Obama's re-election, hundreds...
