A rape victim would face stoning for engaging in sex with someone not her husband. Blasphemy, mocking Islam or Muhammad, adultery, homosexuality, Atheism, paganism (think Hinduism and Budhism), and campaigning for the rights of non-Muslims would all be capital crimes. New, non Muslim houses of worship could not be built; and existing ones (a) could not be maintained or renovated, and (b) would face eviction if the services inside offended Muslims on the outside.

Under Pax Americana (using a conservative model), freedom to exercise the religion of your choice would prevail. There would be no requirement to be or remain Christian, for example. Criticism of God and Country would be considered impolite, but not punishable. Homosexuals would be left alone with the caveat that the government would not promote their way of life as beautiful, good, and right. Sexual irresponsibility would not be funded by the government, but would not be punishable. Atheists would be free to be offended by public displays of religion, just as religious people (including those who work for the government) would be free to publicly display their religion.

On November 29th, 1947, the United Nations’ General Assembly voted to partition Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. The Jewish leadership accepted the plan; the Arab leadership rejected it. Sixty-five years later, on November 29th, 2012, Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority, excoriated Israel, praised Islamic terrorists, and received the overwhelming approbation of the General Assembly, which voted 138 to 9 (with 41 abstentions) to recognize Palestine as a “non-member observer state.”
