In the old days, the democrats would lie (cheat, steal, and kill), the media would ignore it, and if the truth about the situation ever came to light it would be so far down the track that the libs would simply yawn through it (see: "McCarthyism"). But today the libs' problem is twofold; 1)they no longer control the narrative and 2) they think they still do. As a result they will pretend that this story hadn't even happened and when thousands of Americans bring it up to them they will be summarily discarded as "right wingers". Problem is a lot of people don't look at a story like this as political, and will recognize media malpractice and corruption for exactly what it is. More of them, I should say, than already otherwise do...

Three years ago, I wrote a satirical column "defending" Nancy Pelosi against accusations that she had lied publicly about being briefed by the CIA about the use of Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EITs) -- including waterboarding -- on enemy detainees as far back as 2002.  Here's her infamous denial:
