Everything I read in the constitution and the federalist papers implies to me that the commerce clause was intended to allow free trade between states and eliminate tariffs which existed at the time. The courts IMHO incorrectly and politically motivated by FDR's administration caved in and set these precedents so one bad law follows another. If SCOTUS cant be trusted then its up to WE THE PEOPLE to FIX it.

In very simple terms the Tea Party exists because both parties SUCK and are corrupt and screwing the public. Why are so many Republicans? Because they suck a little bit less.

This is silly when I was of elementary school age I learned that in a good relationship each person must be submissive to the other persons need. Simply put, put the other persons needs at a greater priority than your own. That's what loving people do. To put it in a political context for political decisions is ludicrous.

The good old boys dont realize they have to get off the stick and do whats right for the country not just the party. While I dont advocate it for 2012 I do believe for 2014 there will be more than 2 party's and there should be. There are way to many people in the Republican party that are the same as democrats. They want power and control and dont give a damn about the rest of us. Well when the economy is good most people ignore politics. Guess what they are watching now and they aint happy

I am afraid I have to disagree. I think Mitch while possibly understanding how the game is usually played out played his hand. When the house was debating Cut Cap and Balance Mitch was mouthing off about plan B even before the ink was dry. Was he preordaining the defeat of the bill? Oh I know the senate dems wouldn't vote for it unless they had no other choice that was the whole point. Well he got what he wanted and now the mess continues maybe he fooled some members of congress but a lot of us out here can actually do math. If the Republicans expect the grass roots to to fight to win the senate they damn well better get someone in the Senate that they feel will advance their goals not the party's. Win and election lose the Republic
