as well as bounty beyond your earlier hopes and presumptions.

Being motivated by the former is good when helpful to others,

but appreciating the latter is the way of real wisdom (true education, not just certificate acquisition) and joy.

... is more heroic giving birth than 99+% of military personnel in combat,
BUT that heroism does not transfer suitably to all other applications.

The ignorant claim against sense and experience that women are sufficiently equal to men for combat/safety assignments.

We would more wisely give proper credit to motherhood, and stop wasting money on myths long proven wrong (and deadly wrong at that).

... was another example of people who should be jailed making up a false story for political reasons.

Tillman DID die an American hero -- he voluntarily and almost super-humanly went where extreme hazard took his life, tragically due to mistaken fire from other US military. But that wasn't "good enough" for some who were too stupid/dishonest to see the truth.

The Sullen Teen

You need to raise them from early childhood knowing that you expect them to act bratty in their teen yrs.
Point out examples of teens being mean to their parents, and tell your kids that it's just a clumsy way to establish their own independence by "killing/divorcing" the primary source of their previous identity.
Then remind them often of how clearly they saw this even as 5 yr-olds.
... take time to be better-informed before you write about things.

Your statements show a presumption that Sarah Palin has not already provided a rich supply of substantial statements over the past year.

Check out her FB blogs -- I know it's a generation beyond TH, but I'm hopeful you and so many others will get w/ the times.

He can be amusing and even correct at times, but to write about things he has obviously not even become half-way informed on...

DH tells on himself.

Dumbing-Down the U.S. Navy

Until the real spirit of America is honored (instead of the classist ways of Europe) the academies will always be beneath what they should achieve:

Preparing the best possible leaders of those who preserve our freedom.

Anyone who has not first served a term of enlisted duty is not fit to lead those who have.

The dynamic of non-coms and officers is a great benefit when properly engaged, but it is simply not good enough to have officers of vastly less experience than most of those they command.

Heinlein explained it best -- commissions for college kids are one of the main betrayals of what should be great about America.
