Aloha Pat Buchanan. Right on. Sotomayor is a political activist, at least since Princeton where she demanded ethnic and gender preferences for her own at the expense of white males (such as the hard working Firefighter Ricci). Her close ties to La Raza (supporter of the Akaka bill, H.R. 2314/S.1011 which would divide Hawaii and its people by race) is incapable of rendering equal justice under the law. Aloha is for everyone. Sotomayor is not.

Thanks, once again, to Thomas Sowell for bringing clarity to the Equal Protection clauses of the 5th and 14th Amndts. They provide equal opportunity to each of us but the outcome in the pursuit for happines is up to each of us. It is natural to want to live off someone else's efforts; but when the government takes money from producers and gives it to others, chosen by race, it has consequences for everyone, especially for the supposed beneficiaries.

Cheers to Linda Chavez and Michael Barone for their clear thinking, as contrasted to Judge Sotomayor's chip-on-the-shoulder arrogant claim of superior ability as a judge. The lady makes no bones about the fact that her life experience as a Latina advocate will play an important role in what facts she looks at and how she decides cases. Even the dissent in Ricci would reversed and remanded. Such a self professed racial zealot should not sit on any federal court.
