When all the hoopla, and idiotic squabbling is ended, the final result will be the same. Americans who want guns will have then, and those who don't, won't. As far as the "gun-grabbers" are concerned, reminds me of a dog barking at a snake. You get close enough, and he'll end your incessant barking for good. I would love to witness a "gun-grabber" getting mugged by some drug crazed night owl, and then ask them if they would like to "borrow:" my gun.

I believe it was Carl Rowan, a noted anti gun rights journalist from Washington, D.C., who went after some teenagers swimming in his pool with an illegally owned (according to unconstitutional D.C. laws) handgun. Do what I say, not what I do? Great example of how the elites would carve out protection for themselves while leaving the rest of "the people" to the wolves without the same methods of self defense which the elites would reserve to themselves. That includes armed body guards for politicians, actors, and other elites, as well as the elites who live in security protected, gated, fenced, communities for the elite.

Rowan actually SHOT the unarmed, naked teen, and used an ILLEGALLY possessed handgun.
And he was never prosecuted for his illegal gun possession.
He also violated the "duty to retreat",because IIRC,DC has no "Stand Your Ground" law and outside one's home they are required to retreat if possible, can't use deadly force unless it's unavoidable.

What's that old saying " a conservative is a liberal that was recently mugged"?? Yeah that's it.
Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., shootings, said: "The British are not coming. ... We don't need all these guns to kill people." Lewis' vision, shared by many, represents a gross ignorance of why the framers of the Constitution gave us the Second Amendment. How about a few quotes from the period and you decide whether our Founding Fathers harbored a fear of foreign tyrants.

Alexander Hamilton: "The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed," adding later, "If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is...
