gmallast, my friend, you left out one very important thing in your assertion: ADVERTISING. I'm sure that you have noticed lately that the ads on the Internet have gone up exponentially ever since TV, radio, and especially the mighty newspaper have almost gone the way of the dinosaur. It's "what sells today". The reporter who can by their delivery drag in a few more customers for the advertisers is the one who is seen the most. I'll admit, there ain't much to look at, or listen to, on TV today. My son, when he was in Pharmacy school, complained that they made him take a marketing course. I asked him what he thought of marketing. His response: Marketing sucks, big time. Aha!

What a difference a few month makes.

Last month we were told by a fawning news media how great things were. The economy was a little engine that could.  And the declining unemployment rate was touted in headlines as significant progress toward economic recovery.

Unemployment rate falls to 7.8% in September, reported the Washington Post- a four-year low...”nearly”… whatever “nearly” means.
