If I follow your argument, this is why my Uncle voted for Jimmy Carter in 1976. He said it was the only way to get Reagan. I guess I admire that gambling instinct.

That is a very real consideration I had some months back. The public has to be forced to face reality to make the necessary long term changes. Romney would have had an impossible, or nearly impossible task to fix fighting democrats all the way and being butchered by the media.

Agreed! As a party though, the GOP needs to quit offering up old guard members. I firmly believe that if two of the "Young Guns" can get on the ticket in 2016, that would be a slam dunk. At this juncture, here are the combinations that I think can win; Ryan/Paul, Ryan/Rubio, Kantor/Jindal, Allen West/Mia Love (OK, this one's a stretch, but in four years, this combo of fiscal conservatives could be a huge win) and maybe Nicki Haley or Christie Noem in the mix somewhere.
Last night was great. Two big victories, including a major comeback. Lots of drama, plenty of excitement. Here’s the bottom line: Notwithstanding chilly conditions and determined opposition, my Arlington County softball team cemented its hold on first place by sweeping a doubleheader. And I was 4-6 with a pair of doubles, so I managed to contribute.

Oh, wait, a few of you are interested in something else that happened last night…that’s right, there was an election. Before contemplating what this means for the nation, let’s quickly check my predictions.
