I'm willing to pay more to solve some of the nation's problems. Americans came together in World War II and paid more. Is this generation not as patriotic? Heck, we don't even need to risk our lives.

Your grasp of history remains nonexistent. Paying more during WWII made the economy a disaster. The fastest and most robust growth in American history took place in 1946 when taxes, spending and government payrolls were SLASHED.
