Don't forget we have to increase taxes on 'the rich.' It has nothing to do with increasing revenue, but instead, it's about 'fairness,' whatever that means. We have to make sure that all those millionaires and billionaires, and apparently thousand-aires, pay their fair share. So just how much is their fair share, and who decides? I don't think I have ever been so disgusted with anything as much as I am with the phrase "their fair share."

Goat whispering? Really? About the only goat whispering I've ever done consisted of: "be still, this will only hurt for a moment." This as I beat his skull in with a hammer. Goat is pretty good smoked with mesquite for about 6-8 hours. Mmmm-mmmm good, tasty.
What happened? I thought that here in sunny Southern California, the shoreline was supposed to be at the Coastal Mountain range by now, presumably from all those melting glaciers at the poles. Much more of this global warming and we will finally have that famous oceanfront property in Arizona. Yeah, right. Just keep on believing...

Just one more in a very long list of reasons why I am glad I don't do business with the B of A. I quit doing business with them in the early 80s because of irregularities in my account; I especially didn't like the attitude that whatever they said was the way it was,end of argument. They were "never wrong." I was forced back to B of A when they acquired Security Pacific, back in the 90s, but after I had to show ID to deposit cash into my own account, we parted ways again, and I never looked back.
How is it that we keep re-electing these same 2 liberals from Northern Ca.? Can't we find anybody from Southern Ca. to run??
I suppose that the Obama cabinet would have to be exempt from such a law. After all, they've mostly been exposed as tax cheats. What about Warren Buffet? He (his business) owes a large amount to the IRS also. Are they sure this is the law they want to pass?

I can remember, very well, a time when I was VP of Engineering, and sat on the Board of Directors, as Director of Engineering for a small company in Orange County, Ca. I managed to live fairly comfortably on $30,000.00 a year, and somehow didn't think that the decimal point needed to move one place to the right. I still have enough integrity to believe that such an exorbitant salary would be tantamount to outright robbery. More and more lately we hear about people making 6 digit salaries while their business collapses, for no other reason than 'they were well connected.'
Your Sunday columns are always a favorite of mine. Would that I had the forum you have, I might deal with some of my own naysayers in exactly the same fashion. Of course it doesn't hurt that you seem to have the same opinions, and the same point of view, as I have. Always a pleasure to read you.
You certainly seem to have a problem with Ransom's columns. My advice to you is simple; if you hate him and his writings so much, don't read him. And while you're at it, why don't you try just a little harder to keep a civil tongue in your' mouth, or rather a civil hand on your' keyboard.
So just to get back on topic, the absolute height of irony is the ad to the right of this column. Rotolo Chevrolet is selling the Volt. Slogan: It's more car than electric.
