If that's broke and destitute, then I want to be destitute in the same exact way. I get the distinct feeling that she doesn't have a clue what that word means.
If the people knew the governments' gross income, that is all the money the take in in taxes, fees, penalties, etc., they would more easily be able to compare it to what the government spends. I feel quite certain nobody in Washington wants to allow such a simple means for the people to figure out what they are doing.

There's always Social Security recipients, the Disabled, Disabled veterans, Military Personnel, and Military Retirees. The president proves this every time there is a negotiation on the debt ceiling, by threatening to withhold their monthly checks. After all, these people who are on a fixed income don't usually write million dollar campaign donation checks.
Whatever happened to all the "global cooling" talk from the '70s. I want to see another good old fashioned protest over global cooling, just like the ones I remember from back then. Wonder if we can find enough hippies to get it going.....

The sheer volume of psycho-babble in the comments section is truly beyond belief.
As far as what constitutes an "assault weapon" goes, don't forget how that is supposedly defined. Any weapon used by the military. Any branch of any military. When I was in the US Navy, the standard rifles were the M-14 and M-16, although they were still phasing out the last few M-1 Garands. The M-1 is a very nice semi-auto 30-06 rifle, and is great for hunting. The Navy issued other weapons, also, like the M1911A1 .45ACP pistol for general use, .38 cal revolvers for air crews, and Remington 870 riot shotguns. By definition, aren't these "assault weapons"?
I sure would like to see someone up there in congress challenge the constitutionality of his executive orders. Might be fun to watch them all get repealed, all at once. Yeah I know, I'm dreaming.
That doesn't seem to be doing much for us here in California. We've got most state employees down to a 4 day work week, and the State continues to squander ever more of our tax dollars.
I really think you should expand the whole thing to include Australia. Somehow bad things always seem to come in 3's. Kind of like the 'Axis' (Germany, Italy, Japan) during WWII, or the current 'Axis of Evil.' You could call it "The Axis of Idiocy." After all the Aussies have never seen an American idea so bad that they wouldn't try it, and even beat us to it, given the opportunity.
