But wait! Obama HAS delivered. "I got's my Obamaphone!!" As they said back in the 30s accounting for FDR's vast popularity, "you don't kill Santa Claus." Obama has reached into our pockets and resdistriuted what he found there to the slugs who won't work and have been trained to sloth and indifference by the welfare state. Not talking about earned right beneficiaries (Social Security, VA, etc.) or even the genuinely needy though many of those are grasshoppers who played and didn't set anyrhing aside. No, we're talking about the slugs and thugs who like the Spanish and Greek will riot if you try and take their free stuff away. Obama and the Demoncrats have turned entitlement into an art form.

Can there be political bubbles like financial bubbles?

Financial bubbles, inflated by hopes and dreams, burst when reality negates any possibility that those hopes and dreams will be realized. At that point, sky high stock or bond or real estate prices come crashing down to earth.

Can the same thing happen in politics? Can a skilled politician, who has become popular with soaring rhetoric and promises, deflate when it starts becoming clear that he is not going to deliver?

Of course, I am thinking about our president.
