The Congress and the President agreed on this particular piece of wanton stupidity and the American people rewarded them for their shortsidedness with electoral victory. The American people, the Congress, and the President can d a m n well pay the price for their stupidity. My only objection is that those of us who knew better and fought it every step of the way- and were ignored by the Republican Party- will also have to pay the price.
