There IS no recovery, Chicaree. The number of people who want to work but cannot find a job has been rising steadily for about 8 years straight. If we measured unemployment now like we did during the Great Depression, unemployment would be about 22%. It averaged 25% during the Great Depression. The genius government doesn't count people who would love to work but have simply given up looking because no jobs are to be found. We have been given an illusory "recovery" in the housing market with interest rates that are actually NEGATIVE if you take inflation into account. Look around you. There is no recovery.

President Obama won the first round of his second term, but thanks to Mitch McConnell the beating wasn’t as severe as it could have been.

The period between the election and the turn of the calendar was dominated by the president, with Speaker John Boehner as his foil. The Speaker always seemed to assume the president was negotiating in good faith, even as the campaign events continued, and even as he was pummeled day and night by the president and his surrogates in the MSM.
