Ms Chavez - so many errors, so embarrassing! First, the Civil War paid any moral responsibility for reparations, Ms Bucko! Second, Presidents implement and enforce law, they have no constitutional authority to make law or choose which laws to enforce. Third, decisions on immigration have always turned on how they may affect the vote – that’s why we have no coherent policy. Fourth, repugnant to take race, ethnicity and religion into account – how jolly well PC and suicidal. We need to foster and strengthen the American culture, not destroy it. Many today have no desire to assimilate. They do not want to be Americans The problem is that Ms Chavez has a greater affinity for her ethnicity than her nationality.

Many conservatives reject President Obama's recent policy to defer action against illegal immigrants who came to the United States as children. But as a conservative who supports the president's decision, I think it's important to seriously engage the arguments both for and against the policy.
