In my part of the world (heavily Hispanic and majority democrat) honorable people still work hard, support their families and don't necessarily vote the party line in national elections. It's hard to find many Obama supporters these days, since even the dullards have started to recognize that his ways are not their ways. Hispanic people are not stupid. Give them an education and a generation to distance themselves from the culture of their past and they're as likely to vote conservative as any other people...

Ms. Chavez, like so many others, misreads the public sentiment on illegal aliens. It's not that many conservatives want to deport people who have lived here all or most of their lives, it's that we want to SECURE THE BORDER AND "STOP" illegal entry, or at least minimize it! When we catch some company using illegal immigrant labor, FINE IT BIG-TIME to make it unprofitable for them to repeat their transgression. Not many folks want to prosecute someone for working hard to try and improve life for their family. SECURE THE BORDER and our "illegal immigration" problem will be solved...

Most "Independents" are just conservatives who simply dislike and distrust the Republican party, but not nearly as much as we dislike the Marxist-Socialist agenda of Obama. America is still America, and I know very few Democrats who will vote for Obama a second time, because now the thinking class know who he is and what he stands for, so only the far left will support him this time out and that won't be nearly enough to get him re-elected...

You fail the "LOGIC" test. Conservatives (and most Republicans) don't care at all about your foolishness, which is all you're talking about. Bad companies go broke and get bought out, with the best parts sold off and the rest dumped. That's what Capitalism is all about. Winners win and losers lose, but everyone gets an equal chance at success. No guarantees, no charity. Get over yourself...

While the Progressives certainly have firm control of what "used to be" the Democratic Party, many exist easily in the Republican Party as well. The Progressive Party first entered American politics with Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican. They've never left it, although the Democratic Party proved to be much easier for them to co-opt so they did. The difference between Democrats, Republicans and Progressives used to be their "principles." Since no current political party appears to have any such thing, it's more and more difficult to choose a "Party" one can rely on going forward. We appear to have only the small choice of "BIG" government V "BIGGER" government, and I don't find either acceptable, so I'm an Independent Conservative...

Obama's (and his media lap-dogs) biggest problem here is that Zimmerman is Hispanic, so how does that work out in their "racist" world where all so-called "White" people are against everyone with a darker skin tone? Are they now calling our huge Latino population "Racist" also? How is that going to work out to their advantage? George Zimmerman is more like Obama than Trayvon Martin is, because they're both HALF-WHITE! It seems to me Obama has stepped in it, one more time. Let's see how he makes the "race-card" work to his advantage under these circumstances...

This situation is what's known as being "between the devil and the deep blue sea." No matter which way it goes, the Syrian people will have no better options than they had before it started. They'll simply trade one tyrant for another because the "Muslim Brotherhood" is not a democratic alternative, no matter how it comes to power, and that's more or less "who" will replace Assad when he's deposed. What NATO, the UN and the Arab League need to do is stay out of this "Civil War" because so far, intervention anywhere in the Middle East has NOT produced positive results. Western style democracy has no place in the Middle East, and the sooner everyone recognizes that fact, the better...

A "Trial" is an expensive process the "POLICE" do not normally decide on, especially in circumstances such as these. That decision is made by trained, "elected" prosecuting attorneys, usually after an INDICTMENT is returned by a Grand Jury. Everyone needs to keep their cool and let the Florida legal system (a very good system, by the way) function as designed, and then we'll all know the TRUTH about what happened that night...
