Most of the "issues" under discussion these days are far beyond federal authority, and shouldn't even be discussed at a national level. Get that right and conservatives can start to rise again. Keep on meddling in the personal realm and get nowhere. We already have the democratic party so why do we need a "democrat light" party?

Stick to federal issues. Control the border (we can never really seal it in a free society) and maintain a strong Military to protect America, then go home and till their own fields. Eliminate all the alphabet soup agencies and stop taxing us into extinction - then MAYBE the republican party get back on track...
