Well, I don't know whether or not Thomas Sowell appeals to the intelligentsia, but the Republicans need candidates like him (though I doubt that there are any quite like him). How did we ever end up with so many fools in the Supreme Court, Congress and the White House?
Southern Baptists don't tell other people how they MUST live, but they do tell them how God wants them to live. If you have a problem with homosexuality being a sin, take it up with God, not the Souther Baptists.

I know no other author whose work is more full of wisdom. I don't understand why his columns are not made compulsory reading in our public schools. If they were, we'd at least get SOME return on our tax dollars.

Too many progressives are nihilists. Ceasing to believe in anything they lack objective standards for making value judgements. In place of objective standards they use feelings and platitudes as guides for morality. Without objective standards, they can deny the existence of sin and thus placate their conscience. It also makes them incapable of even simple value judgements. So, pornography is increasingly welcomed on college campuses, crowding out Shakespeare. Their tolerance, however, is not extended to anyone with an objective standard, and especially not to a Christian. Objective standards highlight the foolishness of progressives and deny them the luxury of wallowing guilt free in their own selfish, egotistical ways.

Wrong on so many levels. Sex is normal. So what? So is VD. Are you suggesting that we model our sexual behavior on the behavior of animals? Actually, many progressives do. Also, most sex related problems do NOT occur when fringe elements use sex to control others. They occur when consenting adults are irresponsible (VD, illigitamate pregnancy, abortion, psychological problems, guilt, abuse, prostitution, etc.). Christianity is not interested in controlling people. Rather, it is interested on helping people live their lives in a way pleasing to God and hence pleasing to themselves, to their families and to their neighbors.

We ought to, at gunpoint, force Thomas Sowell to run for President.

The fact that there is such a large percentage of the American public that refuses to acknowledge the truth of Judge Napolitano's argument is depressing. The truth is obvious.

Thomas Sowell - most of the time his writing amazes with its insight and wisdom, but sometimes it simply grips your attention. It never disappoints.

Okay, I'm a conservative, but I would welcome a 4 year dictator - as long as was Walter Williams.
