The pattern is clear, when far-left liberals like Barack Obama are faced with logical, rational arguments, they attack the questioner, not the question. We have seen it a million times already. So, why do liberals not do as Obama says, and engage in civil discourse? Simple, because they can't.

Their arguments for destroying the best health care system in the world, the best financial system in the world, the best military int he world, the best government system in the world, are the same. Because we wanna! We don't like it. It's not fair. Wa wa wa!

Just watch what happens next time some one questions a liberal on policy. It is inevitable.

Mr. Phillips said it correctly at the beginning, that the left is not interested in civility or honest debate; they want total annihilation of the right and conservatism. Look at the way they are shutting off Congressional debate and ramming through unpopular laws. I predict it will not work. America is different. Freedom and liberty are deeply ingrained in the national soul, and tactics that reek of totalitarianism will elicit a strong response, as we are seeing.

The difference between liberals and conservatives is quite simple. Conservatives see human nature for what it is and live their lives in concert with the competitive urges. LIberals see human nature, are disgusted by it and want to change it.

Guess which philosophy has the greater chance of success?

Here's a clue, who won the Cold War?
This is just another in a series of hysterical crises. We have had nuclear war, pesticides, ice ages, fluoride, swamp gas/UFOs, comet collisions, and many other issues that were going to bring about the end of the world.

What is different this time is that the loonies, and this includes Barack Obama, are willing to make incredible sacrifices in the human condition to stop an unproven threat. It is lunacy to the max.
To answer Meredith's question, "When did profit become a dirty word" I believe it was on February 21, 1848, when Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels published "THe Communist Manifesto."
Barack Hussein Obama's marxist leanings were well known before the election. He came out of the group of academic elite who sit around and wonder why, since they are so much smarter than everyone else, are they not the richest? So, to right this egregious wrong, they make a lot of noise about "greed" in an attempt to stir up the masses. Their hope is that they can make themselves rich at the expense of those who have earned it. They give the "ignorant" masses a few handouts, like socialized health care, to placate them.

It is an old, old story. Just look at all the communist dictators of the past who accumulated wealth while the societies they controlled stagnated and festered. Could it happen here in America? Unlikely, but not...

Guess I am just getting old, but I remember when being liberal used to include the idea of being "tolerant" as well. But, no more. Today's liberal/progressive/neoMarxist is anything but tolerant of differing points of view. Just listen to our Teleprompter reading president. He brands those who disagree or even question his brilliance as unpatriotic nay-sayers.

But, don't worry, the majority in this country, who are right of center, are waking up to the Marxist hell that has been unleashed, and are beginning to react. The pendulum is starting to swing back. Sweet 2010!
Isn't it sadly ironic that the last bastion of freedom and liberty is the Supreme Court? Who would have thought that one of the greatest destroyers of freedom is now its only friend? But, sadly, we are only one heart attack away from finishing the Marxist takeover of the USA begun last November.
