Funny, we never hear "That is too much influence and power in the hands of one group" when it is the AARP or some other organization that is flexing its muscles. Yet here is a group dedicated to actually defending the 2nd Amendment, well, that's just unacceptable. I'm not a gun owner nor a member of the NRA, but I support the constitution and actually care that my representative supports it. Good for the NRA for ranking this contempt vote.
Don't you love how Maddow is NOW calling for public financing of elections? Where were all these concerned DEMS in 2008 when Obama was outspending McCain by $500 million?
Not pretty worthless...completely worthless. It's the kind of rationalizing addicts do before their lives crash around them.
In the old days, before the housing mess, a person making $50k a year would not get a mortgage for 3 times his salary, let alone more than that. Banks simply didn't do that. The rule was 2.5x one's salary. And it was typically a 30-year fixed mortgage, meaning that 1) a person knew exactly what the payment would be, 2) it would not increase unless the homeowner refinanced, and 3) the debt would go down year after year until it was paid off. Given that our national debt is largely (80%) financed with short-term bonds, we don't know what we'll be paying in 2 years because interest rates could and will go up and we are adding to the debt every day, not paying it down. So, your analogy is an epic fail across the board.
So let me see if I understand your pretzel logic here South Side...what you are saying is that you are justified in taking my tax dollars so that you can have a job that pays you more than I earn, all so you can spend your money (which used to be mine) on a house like mine in my neighborhood which I can barely afford anymore because the taxes are so high, and so that you can use your money (which used to be mine) to patronage stores and buy stuff that I would buy but can't because you take my money. Is that what you are saying? If we cut public worker salaries, we will not Affect everyone who depends on your business, because those of us who will be able to keep more of our money (instead of giving it to you) will make up the difference.

I actually agree with you. I've long thought it was awful. And I would absoutely support "America the Beautiful" as our national anthem.

How did giving half of Chrysler to Fiat in return for the rights to build a single car nobody wants save the American auto industry? Another leftist sheep, grazing on Obama's lies. Pathetic.

And remember, we couldn't risk people taking a small percentage of their FICA taxes and investing it themselves, in part because the trust fund's revenue would dry up quicker. But the DEMS have no problem giving a payroll tax holiday to people, which I am actually grateful for...I use the little bit I get back each pay period and invest it into my 401k, which beats flushing it down the government toilet any day.

No, we MUST. It is the only chance we have of averting economic collapse.

You like Obama? Why?? I couldn't stand to be in the same room with him, let alone have a drink.
