China seems to be reproducing the economics of Ferdinand Marcos on a much larger scale. Either the communist apparatchiks get away with billions hidden overseas at the end of this and leave a continent more impoverished than they found it or there is going to be a bloody revolution the likes of which no one has ever seen. It all depends on what the mid-level officers in the military and the police do. I don't see a happy ending here.

I'm tired of supporting Israel more than the Jews who are American citizens do. We do everything we can for Israel and all they can do is spit in our faces and cheat in our elections. And the ones who are on "our side" just talk us into wars that end up making us the party out of power. They're no better than libertarians who parrot conservative stands on issues and then refuse to vote for Republicans out of some idiotic desire for a purity they wouldn't demand of a Democrat. I say we let Israel be. Let David Geffen give his millions for an iron shield over an Israeli village rather than to have his name on a medical school. It's time to put America first, for a while.

I look at our situation now as being similar to the time just after Marc Anthony read "Caesar's will" to the people of Rome shortly after his assassination by the senators. At that time the people truly believed that there was some lasting benefit to be gained by the distribution of the booty Caesar had won in his conquests among them, and they had talked themselves into the idea that their lust after material gain of this sort was somehow virtuous. If I am right, just think about what we are in for.

The future of education: Almost all content on-line, free. Money will change hands when testing is done. Testing will be done at locations distributed around the country that specialize in this. They will be hired for this purpose by the college, university, or trade school. Biometric testing and CCTV monitoring of test takers will be done. The need to physically matriculate at a college will be largely unnecessary and wasteful.
