I definitely agree with all of you guys on Harding being underrated and for the reasons stated. About Wilson, we shouldn't forget his racism. He resegrated the federal government which the Republicans (and Cleveland, as the only Democrat to be elected before Wilson after the Civil War) had ended.

This guy's probably working to build a reputation so Obama will name him one of his czars. Right now he's being crowded out by those who have already established their red or otherwise radical bona fides.
What a review! I was ordering from Amazon. I just added this book to my shopping cart. Thank you.

Mr. K, I'm a Pirates fan, so believe me, I understand your plight. In fact, Nyjer Morgan was one of the good players traded away by the Bucs. If the Nats are showing signs of hope this year, then it's better to compare Obama to the Pirates, as much as I hate to do so. Obama and his team remind me of the Pirates 20-0 loss last week.
It's the thought that counts, Neal. Assuming your correct and the Republican and conservative objections caused him to write a different speech, couldn't the same be said about any of his policies? Do we just keep our mouths shut and hope he'll be more or less reasonable?

Col. North, don't hold your breath. I'm sure the President believes, as does his mentor and minister, Jeremiah Wright, that this is all a matter of our chickens coming home to roost. If he does anything, he'll apologize for all we've done to these oppressed people.

"Historians" For Obama

I know what you mean. Check out the "History" channel's series on the presidents. They get to modern times and suddenly Carter's a hero and the one responsible not for the kidnapping of the American diplomats in Iran, but their release. And Ike and Reagan are dummies, who accomplished nothing during their 8 years. You see the same thing in books on presidents and their campaigns, where the liberals like Wilson, FDR and LBJ are all made out to be heroes, while successful Republicans like Coolidge, Ike and Reagan are said to be ignorant, insensitive, racist, warmongers or whatever.

Having grown up in Pittsburgh, I'm a Steeler fan, but was disgusted at this year's ceremony awarding the Rooneys the winner's trophy when Rooney used it as an opportunity to gush about Obama, no doubt in further payment for his Irish ambassadorship. So we see here the usual hypocrisy, where it's OK for liberals to speak in favor of their candidate or philosophy, but not for the conservatives to do so. I'll switch my allegiance from the Steelers to Rush's team!

We have, among others, Warren Buffett to thank for Obama being elected. Thanks for telling us now, Warren, what Barack's policies will do to us. You couldn't figure that out before you endorsed him? You couldn't tell he was the second coming of Karl Marx? You'll be OK, but the rest of us will have to pay the price. We appreciate your warning.

I'm surprised that no one's yet found a way to blame Bush for this, but their god and savior Barack is in the White House.
