John, Most of Obama's technology advisers have little to no real world experience. But they do have a political agenda that matches Obama's. And the Obama Administration appears to want to remake the US into a Western Hemisphere version of Europe. If the president had pushed for an auto fueled by natural gas or propane, we could have not only decreased our cash flow to the Middle East, but we also could have made a serious dent in CO2 emissions (not that I am a climate change groupie). The US is "awash" in natural gas and has extremely large reserves. And the technology to burn natural gas or propane in our vehicles is existing technology.
